A Hundred Years of Klimt’s Kiss
Klimt’s golden Kiss is celebrating an anniversary — the painting was first shown a century ago at the Kunstschau. From October 1, 2008 to January 18, 2009, the Belvedere will present works from the masters of the Art Nouveau and contemporary movements in an exhibition entitled Gustav Klimt and the 1908 Kunstschau.

From 1970 showcases a selection Austrian art from the last three and a half decades at the Albertina. The exhibition includes numerous impressive works from the country’s leading painters, graphic artists and sculptors.
Christian Schad at the Leopold Museum
Christian Schad (1894 – 1982) is considered the main German representative of the New Objectivity Movement. The Leopold Museum shows the first comprehensive exhibition of his works as well as numerous international examples for comparison.

On December 31, Vienna’s old city will again be transformed into a gigantic party zone. Some 700,000 visitors are expected to make their way to the 19th New Year’s Eve Trail this year. Starting at City Hall Square, it winds its way through the narrow streets of the historic city center.
